The results in New Hampshire in and Donald Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders came out the clear winners, both with comfortable leads in their primaries.
Sanders took 60% of the Democrat vote to Hillary Clinton’s 38, while Donald Trump lead the Republican race with 35% of the vote. Coming in second in in the GOP race was Ohio Governor John Kasich with 15.8%. Sen. Ted Cruz came in third at 11.7%, closely followed by JEB Bush at 11.1%.
It was expected for Sanders and Trump to do well in New Hampshire, as well as Kasich, who has lived in the state. Apart from the returns, perhaps the most interesting news of the night was the tally of money spent by each GOP candidate and their various PACs:
NH Combined campaign/SuperPAC spending
$36M Bush
$18.5M Christie
$15.2M Rubio
$12.1M Kasich
$3.7M Trump
$1.8M Fiorina
$580K Cruz#NHPrimary— Stephen Hayes (@stephenfhayes) February 10, 2016
I’ll just say that I would not want JEB Bush managing my money.
Save Chris Christie, who is said to be reevaluating his campaign, the candidates will now move on to South Carolina and Nevada.
